Monday 23rd December (4 night Break Starts)

Arrive from 12 noon onwards with a traditional afternoon tea served throughout our comfy lounges with open fires and views over Lake Windermere.

From 7pm, dinner is served in the Windermere Restaurant surrounded by the contrast of vibrant artwork of Viennese painter Gustav Klimt and traditional English oak wall panelling, sumptuous chairs, crisp white linen, fine crystal ware and crockery. Not to mention its stunning outlook, Lake Windermere and striking mountain ranges.

Christmas Eve (3 Night Break Starts)

Morning starts with breakfast, followed by a magical cruise on Lake Windermere, where hopefully snow capped fells and wintery blue skies await us all.

Royal afternoon tea is served during a traditional game of bingo hosted once again by Nevil the General Manager, always a treat before gathering to feed the real reindeer on the marina lawns.

Many quizzes and traditional games are valuable for all to enter during your Break with prizes to be won for all the family, “Googling” may help, but we are wise to that one.

Dinner this evening commences with an invite from Nevil Jeffery the General Manager to a champagne and canapé reception at 7pm accompanied by Rachel and Matthew on piano, followed by dinner at 7.45pm.

For those wishing to attend Midnight mass, a warming glass of mulled wine awaits you on your return prior to retiring to bed ready for the big day ahead.

Christmas Day

Start your Christmas with a glass of bucks fizz over breakfast and traditional stockings provided with many treats for all the children. Prepare yourself for Santa’s arrival at Low Wood Bay on water skis, before being accompanied by “Sam” the dog to the Christmas tree with gifts for all under its branches.

The Windermere Restaurant plays host to Christmas Day Lunch, with all the trimmings and festive cheer.

A leisurely approach is called for this evening with a delicious buffet and wine to accompany before taking to the casino tables and entering the horse races, with prizes to be won from weekend breaks to champagne and wine.

Boxing Day

Breakfast is served before young and old take to the mippet for the black pudding hurling championship. Will anybody beat Nevil who holds the current four year running record?

Boxing night commences with Champagne and music from our resident pianist before the delights of our Cumbrian Gala dinner.

Entertainment this evening comes from the table magician during dinner and followed by a tribute act for all ages and dancing until 1am from our resident DJ.

* Boxing night Gala Dinner tables will be formal banquet style of 8 or more, dependent on party size.
