Programme of Events
Friday 23rd December 2011
Arrive at your leisure. However if you would like to arrive a little earlier, join us for a gentle walk at 1.30pm, stopping halfway to enjoy a glass of mulled wine. On your return to the hotel, tea and scones will be provided between 4pm and 5pm. Later on meet Jan, his team and fellow guests over canapés and a glass of wine in the Drawing Room. Dinner is then served, in our 2AA rosette restaurant, with entertainment from the Lakes Handbell Ringers and live music. The evening will conclude with a surprise event at 10 pm.
Christmas Eve – Saturday 24th December 2011
After breakfast perhaps take a leisurely stroll down to the Temple and through the hotel grounds. At 11am our Head Chef, Will Jones, will hold a cooking demonstration, giving you an insight of how he cooks some of your chosen dishes. In the afternoon a Tasting Session will take place in our cellars. This evening, enjoy a drinks reception before a special Christmas Eve Dinner with live music. Relax with coffee and petits fours before the cars take those who wish to attend the midnight Carol Service and Communion at St. Martin's Church in Windermere, returning to warm mince pies and mulled wine.
Christmas Day – Sunday 25th December 2011
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with a glass of Bucks Fizz. Perhaps take a quick stroll before a traditional festive and extensive Christmas Lunch, which is accompanied by easy listening live music from The Walkers. In the evening we serve an informal buffet supper.
Boxing Day – Monday 26th December 2011
Following a hearty Victorian buffet breakfast, the day is yours to enjoy. You can join us later in the morning for an interesting and mind-challenging competition. We will be holding another entertaining skimming competition in the afternoon on the lake shores (supported by a hot drink!), followed by tea, Christmas cake and mince pies. After the results of the Mind Challenge you round off your day with another sumptuous dinner, to the accompaniment of live music.

Following breakfast, unless you decide to stay a little longer, we must say goodbye until next year and wish you a safe journey home.
