Christmas Day - Thursday 25th December 2014

Father Christmas will be waiting to wish you all a very Merry Christmas with you can then enjoy a glass of Bucks Fizz and a hearty Lakeland Breakfast.

You are invited to indulge in our Christmas morning hunt, we will be searching for the same animal that was undertook on a regular basis by a gentleman called Sir Richard de Gilpin, for obvious reasons there will be one or two subtle differences after such a long time (we are using cuddly Boars and not real ones as they would bite). You will of course leave you plenty of time to get ready for the traditional Christmas day lunch that Head Chef Marc has been busy preparing.

This afternoon is a time to relax and possibly enjoy some of the gifts that Father Christmas delivered earlier this morning or you could begin exchanging stories of your great exploits against the ferocious Wild Boars from earlier this morning.

This evening we start with a traditional yuletide buffet, and this is followed by our annual Dominoes competition and we will be holding our bowling competition, a regular event during the 20th century, but only seen twice in the 21st Century.

Boxing Day – Friday 26th December 2014

A hearty late breakfast is the perfect start to any day, but especially one as busy as this.

Today we have arranged for a morning of Clay pigeon shooting in our woods, this will be suitable for all whether you are a beginner or an expert and with the help of the our resident sharp shooter Mike, everyone should hit at least one clay.

This afternoon we will be serving a late ‘’ Pub Lunch’’ and we would like you to sample some of the beers we have made onsite in our very own micro brewery.

We begin this evening with a drinks reception; hopefully you will notice the Inn’s management team have being replaced and your new hosts are Mr & Mrs Fawlty!! There has been a murder your job with the assistance of Torquay’s finest is to discover the culprit, could it be Manuel or Polly maybe it was Sybil or could it be Basil himself!

We will be serving you a three course taster menu from the grill & smokehouse menu including dishes such as our own Damson Cured Smoked Salmon, Smoked Fillet Steak or even our Signature Smoked Wild Boar.

Saturday 27th December 2014

The conclusion of our Christmas package is of course a traditional Cumbrian breakfast and a fond farewell with best wishes for the year ahead.
