Today we have arranged for a cruise around Lake Windermere allowing you to take in some of Lakelands most spectacular mountain scenery contrasted against the wooded shoreline. Once you have finished the cruise we have allowed you plenty of time to explore the village of Bowness-on-Windermere an ideal opportunity for any last minute Christmas shopping.

Upon your return we will be serving toasted tea cakes and mulled wine we will then give you the chance to show off your creative side as we will be letting you all try your hand at Gingerbread House making, with prizes awarded for the best efforts.

This evening we will be serving a festive four course dinner, each course will be accompanied by one of our Whiskies, chosen by our own 'Master of Malt' George.

This evening we will be holding our bowling competition, a regular event during the 20th century, it has only been seen twice in the 21st Century.

For those who want to attend Midnight Mass we will be providing transport to Crook Village Church and there will mince pies and mulled wine upon your return.

Christmas Day - Friday 25th December 2015

Father Christmas will be waiting to wish you all a very Merry Christmas with you can then enjoy a glass of Bucks Fizz and a hearty Lakeland Breakfast.

You are invited to take on the role of Sir Richard de Gilpin on this Christmas morning Wild Boar Hunt, for obvious reasons there will be one or two subtle differences after such a long time (we are using cuddly Boars called Boris and not real ones as they would bite). You will of course leave have plenty of time to get ready for the traditional Christmas day lunch that Head Chef Marc has been busy preparing.

This afternoon is a time to relax and possibly enjoy some of the gifts that Father Christmas delivered earlier this morning or you could begin exchanging stories of your great exploits against the ferocious Wild Boars from earlier this morning.

This evening we start with a traditional yuletide buffet, and this is followed by our annual Dominoes competition and we will be holding our bowling competition.

Boxing Day – Saturday 26th December 2015

A hearty late breakfast is the perfect start to any day, especially for those joining us for walk around the Gilpin valley so that you can take in some of the stunning views of the local area.

Today we have arranged for a morning of Clay pigeon shooting in our woods, this will be suitable for all whether you are a beginner or an expert and with the help of the our resident sharp shooter Mike, everyone should hit at least one clay.

This lunchtime we will be serving a 'Pub Lunch' and we would like you to sample some of the beers we have made onsite in our very own micro brewery.

We begin this evening with a drinks reception; and then we will be joined by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman as we discover a murder in 'Ricks café Americain' located in the city of Casablanca you will team up with other guests, so as you work together to solve the crime the question is will this be 'the beginning of a beautiful friendship' or will you regret your choices - "maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life."

We will be serving you a three course taster menu from the grill & smokehouse menu including dishes such as our own Damson Cured Smoked Salmon, Smoked Fillet Steak or even our Signature Smoked Wild Boar.
