Tell us a little about your professional journey
Hair and Make-up was always a passion of mine, and in 1999 I was fortunate enough to get an apprenticeship at an award-winning salon in Kendal where I learned my craft. I climbed the ladder within the salon to Senior Stylist, and eventually Salon Director, before turning to Mobile Hairdressing and Wedding Hair and Make up. So far in my career, I have had over ten years salon experience and have trained with L’Oreal and Guy Kremer. I have also been privately trained at the Manchester School of Make Up.
How Would you Define Your Approach to Styling
One of the most important aspects is to listen to my clients to get a full understanding of what kind of look they want to achieve, whether that is in hairdressing, bridal hair and make up, someone trying my service for the first time or a regular customer interested in experimenting with a new style. I’ve got lots of experience and I am more than happy to make suggestions, but the aim is that clients will leave knowing they have a style that complements their vision and personality perfectly.
I am also a firm believer in using the best quality Hair and Make Up products on the market. I use MAC, Bobbi Brown and Illamasqua amongst others.
What does The Snug add to what you provide?
The Snug represents the next step in my career – my first little ‘boutique’ Salon in the Lake District, but a Salon that is part of a much larger and very exciting project within the Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa. The Snug is exactly how it sounds, a small and comfortable treatment area that now offers Hairdressing and Wedding Hair and Make up by appointment. To begin with I will be working in The Snug from Wednesday to Saturday every week – and because I am no longer travelling around so much I will have the ability to take on new clients.
