Not to keen on the gym? Maybe the classes are for you – suitable for ladies and gentleman alike.

Whether you are new to classes or are experienced the content is levelled to all. Visit before work and attend one of our ‘Early Morning Classes’ perhaps you can schedule a visit during the day – classes are timetabled in the morning – maybe you could stay for a couple?

Class Information

Pilates

A brilliant class designed to improve flexibility, build strength, develop control and endurance in the entire body. Placing emphasis on alignment, breathing and a strong core to improve general fitness and wellbeing.

Fit steps

An energetic, upbeat dance class designed to achieve real measurable fitness results. The dance workout mixes the graceful steps of Ballroom and the up-tempo steps of Latin dances, to create fun-filled sessions.

Aqua

Uses the freedom of water to improve range of motion, flexibility and overall strength. The movement of water is used to improve cardio vascular endurance, core strength and balance. This class is suitable for all fitness levels.

Kettlercise

Kick all your fitness goals into high gear with exercises that work multiple muscle groups simultaneously, developing strength and muscular endurance and efficient caloric expenditure. Great for the arms, shoulders, back, legs and core.

Zumba

Zumba Fitness is a Latin-inspired cardio-dance workout, that uses music and choreographed steps to form a fitness party atmosphere. While many of the types of dance and music featured in the program are Latin American inspired, classes can also contain everything from jazz and African beats to country, hip-hop and pop.

Spinning

A high intensity class on stationary spin bikes. You’ll get an amazing workout by mixing-up your routine and challenging your body in a different way with high energy vibe and invigorating music. Plus, spinning burns calories quickly and provides a safe cycling session in the comfort of indoors. Suitable for all levels including non cyclists.

Suspension Training

A great class combining cardio and toning whilst developing strength, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. A full body workout using gravity and your bodyweight whilst performing a range of different exercises. You’ll feel the difference after the first session.

Box Fit

This class uses training techniques used by boxers for many years to keep fit and in shape. A non-contact class that provides a calorie burning workout suitable for all abilities. Be prepared for a knockout class whilst relieving your stresses of the day

Power Hoop

Power hoop is a fun fitness hooping class using a weighted hoop. Power hoop’s weight and wavy interior create pulsing contractions, trimming and toning your tummy and waist. Let your inner child out!

Cardio Boot Camp

Feel the burn, see the results. Bootcamp is a mix of cardio and resistance exercise which combine bodyweight exercises with free weight exercises. It will help you to improve your balance, strength and flexibility. A fast paced workout!

HIIT

HIIT is a popular full body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditioning workout. This interval-based class combines full body strength training with high intensity cardio bursts, designed to tone your body and improve your endurance.

Body Blast

A cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy, non contact, interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilisation exercises.

Outdoor

Paddlecise

Blending core strength, coordination and stability with a twist. Our instructors will deliver a range of exercises out on Lake Windermere during a 45 minute paddle session. Be prepared to get wet once or twice. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and SUPs (Stand Up Paddleboards) provided.

Outdoor Bootcamp

A workout with a mix of agility, speed, power and strength based exercises. Be prepared for a physical group class by one of our instructors. Bootcamps are great to build strength and fitness through a variety of intense group intervals. As we are in the heart of the Lake District please be prepared whatever the weather.

Aqua HIIT

A unique, effective and challenging way to exercise a low-impact, cross-training workout on water. Burpees, lunges, squats, mountain climbers, the plank…. all on water! This class is delivered either in the pool or on the Lake, dependent on weather. A brand new way of exercising.

Nordic Walking

Why not get some fresh air with our new Nordic Walking class. Walking poles provided as our Nordic Walking instructor takes you on a Lakeland journey. An excellent class for anyone wanting to improve fitness, lose weight, tone the whole body or simply join a group of likeminded people in the outdoors.

MYZONE

Join our classes and connect with our new MYZONE community. Your unique heart rate belt allows you to keep track of your fitness progression and performance by measuring heart rate, calories and effort. Get ready to join our leader boards and see real time performance and achievements whilst you work out alone or participate in any of group classes.

CLASS ETIQUETTE

Keep fully hydrated, using the water fountains provided or bring your own bottle.

Prebook your fitness classes to avoid being turned away.

Wear appropriate attire and sufficient footwear for your workouts. No bear feet please.

Use one of our complimentary towels during your workout. Always wipe down equipment after use, using the sanitiser provided.

Never lift equipment that is heavier than you are comfortable with. This can lead to unnecessary injury to you and others.

Punctuality is key. Please remember to arrive a few minutes early to ensure the class starts on time. Late arrivals may not be permitted to join in, due to a set programme and limited capacity.

Finally, we want you and others to enjoy the experience at the Health Club. Please help us deliver great classes and service by respecting the facility, equipment, other members and our staff.

Under 16s are only permitted to participate in the Aqua Classes.
