Woodmatters Woodland Courses
The Family Bushcraft Day is a chance to explore the woodland landscape and learn firelighting, shelter building and greenwood skills in a fun way suitable for all ages amongst the beautiful woodlands next to the Wildboar Hotel.
We’ll start buy tuning into our environment and awaking our senses. Then we’ll light a communal fire without matches, vital if we are to cook our dinner! You’ll get the chance to try different shelter designs and some greenwood crafts adjusted to your experience and age. We’ll finish with a final campfire treat!

Adults £40. Children £20 including cooked campfire lunch, drinks and treats.

Beginners Spoon Carving – 13th Oct 2012
Learn how to transform a piece of wood into a beautiful cooking spoon that you’ll treasure for its uniqueness and the memories you’ll associate with it.
You’ll learn about the form and function of spoons, safe tool use and different knife grips and techniques that will help you develop your interest. Be warned it’s addictive!

Bowl Carving – 27th Oct 2012
Use a shave- horse, axe, draw knife, bowl-mate, adze and gouge to create a Scandinavian style bowl. A great way to learn or develop greenwood skills and finish up with a long lasting and useful bowl.
