Great North Swim Travel Information
Travel and Parking
The Great North Swim will take place at the Low Wood Hotel and Marina on the east side of Lake Windermere. The Hotel and Marina is situated on the A591 which is one of the main routes into the Lake District and as such can become quite congested.
Park and Sail
The 2009 Great North Swim will take place at Low Wood using the hotels’ Marina on Lake Windermere. This year there will not be any parking available at Low Wood, however the event organisers are currently working closely with Windermere Lake Cruises to develop a Great North Swim park-and-sail service. This service will operate from a number of points around the lake to ensure that all competitors and spectators can get to and from the event. All competitors will be emailed and more information will be online when confirmed at the Great North Swim website. www.greatswim.org/GNS/index.html
