New Year Breaks - 2015 Programme
Thursday 29th December 2016
Your room will be ready from 3pm and, once settled in, our management team welcome you to ‘The Boar’ with a light buffet and piping hot glass of mulled wine.
Tonight, join us for ‘A Taste of The Wild Boar’ – a drinks reception and multi-course tasting menu showcasing some of our favourite dishes and ingredients from our in-house brewery and smokehouse. Then, assemble your teams for our inaugural Festive Quiz with prizes for the lucky winners!
Friday 30th December 2016
This morning begins with a hearty Cumberland Breakfast and guests are then invited to make their way up into our ancient Woodland where our resident sharp shooter Mike has arranged a morning of Clay pigeon shooting - suitable for all and, whether a beginner or expert, everyone should hit at least one clay!
This evening the team welcome you with a chilled glass of champagne followed by a fabulous four course dinner in our award-winning restaurant and then give you the chance to become a Wild Boar ‘High Flyer’ as we host a special Casino Night in our Bar and Lounge. We’ll even provide you with a generous amount of Wild Boar currency to begin a night of blackjack and roulette with prizes awarded for the highest earners!
Saturday 31st December 2016 – New Years Eve
Following your last breakfast of 2016, why not relax by one of our roaring log fires, take the opportunity to visit our sister hotel’s leisure facilities at Low Wood Bay or, and for those who want to get out and about, why not take advantage of one of our walks through the adjoining Gilpin Plantation, taking in the surrounding area and its stunning views.
Following crumpets and toasted tea cakes, together with a hot toddy, join us in our Bar and Lounge for a festive whisky tasting. Our ‘Master of Malt’ George Hutton has selected a number of whiskies from our extensive in-house list for you to sample and, whether you are a newcomer or whisky veteran, there will certainly be something for everyone!
Our evening celebrations begin with a champagne and canape reception followed by a traditional black tie seven course gala dinner with entertainment until the early hours from our Resident DJ.
Sunday 1st January 2017
Enjoy a traditional Lakeland breakfast before we reluctantly wish you a fond farewell and send you on your way with our very best wishes for 2017.
