2013 New Year Breaks - Programme
Sunday 29th December 2013
Following a warm welcome, enjoy a glass of our ‘secret recipe’ homemade mulled wine whilst settling in and enjoying the stunning views over the Lake to the fells beyond. Suitably refreshed; our head chef Andrew Caulfield and his brigade then welcome you to the evening celebrations with a champagne and canapé reception. Our resident musician will be playing you through a sumptuous four course dinner in the Restaurant.
Monday 30th December 2013
Following a Lakeland breakfast, the day is free for you to relax, tackle the fells or enjoy a lake cruise on Windermere. A hearty Cumbrian hot pot will await you on your return to warm you up.
Mark Needham, General Manager, and the team then welcome you to the evening’s celebrations beginning with a champagne and canapé reception, followed by a gourmet four course dinner in the Restaurant.
The evening’s festivities then continue with our ever-popular fun casino night including roulette, blackjack and wheel of fortune. Enjoy all the thrill and excitement of the real thing without compromising your wallet!
New Year’s Eve - Tuesday 31st December 2013
Enjoy your last breakfast of 2013, which will be served until 11am. Before tonight’s celebrations why not explore the local area or venture out into that superb scenery with a complimentary Windermere cruise. A light Cumbrian buffet will be served in the afternoon to put you on before the night’s celebrations.
The evening’s festivities commence with a champagne and canapé reception. Andrew Caulfield and his brigade then invite you to our six-course gala dinner (black tie preferred, but not essential!). Our resident DJ will then raise the tempo, count down the last moments of 2013 and welcome in the New Year to the sounds of Big Ben and popping champagne corks.
New Year’s Day – Wednesday 1st January 2014
Relax and start 2014 with a well-earned lie-in. This morning, we will serve a leisurely brunch from 9.00am. For those of you wanting some fresh Lakeland air, there will be local walk with information available, along with a flask of strong coffee for those nursing a sore head.
Back at the Waterhead; join the team for an afternoon of culinary delights from around Europe, international beer tasting and cocktail demonstrations.
This evening’s three course dinner will feature Andy’s take on some traditional British Pub favourites served in the Restaurant, keeping with the theme it’s then time to assemble your team for the Waterhead Festive Pub Quiz with prizes for the lucky winners.
A drink or two in our Bar and Lounge overlooking Lake Windermere will round off a memorable and relaxing New Year at The Waterhead.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, but why not stay another night at a specially reduced rate? If commitments do pull you away, then we will have to say our fond farewells after a final hearty Lakeland breakfast.

2013 New Year Breaks Tariffs
Tariff
Our four night New Year’s break, commencing 29th December, including all the entertainment and meals detailed above starts from only £595 per person. If commitments do not allow you a four night break, then we can also offer a 3 night break commencing 30th December, for £525 per person Please note that participation in the walk will be dependent on the wearing of appropriate footwear, and whether the walk itself occurs will be subject to the prevailing weather conditions.
Room Supplements
Lake View rooms - £20 per room per night
Luxury Lake view room - £60 per room per night
Single occupancy - we have two single rooms. Once these have been sold, a supplement of £75 per night will apply to double rooms required for single occupancy.
Discounts
If there are three or more couples in your party, and you will be requiring a table of six or more for meals, then you may all be eligible for a 5% discount. Please contact us for details.
Children's Rates
The Waterhead’s festive break is not suited to young children and so we are unable to welcome those under 15. Any young adults over this age will be charged at the full adult rate.
Additional Nights
Extend your New Year Break - receive a special rate of £106 per person for dinner, bed and breakfast in a House Room on 27th and 28th December. Extend your break for the special one off rate from £75.00 per person Dinner, bed and breakfast in a house room for dates from the 2nd January.

Booking & Deposits
For more information, or to book your Christmas or New Year Holiday, please telephone or email us. To secure your holiday, a non-refundable deposit of £100 per adult is required at the time of booking. This can be made by simply quoting a credit card number and details, or by sending a cheque which must be received within 7 days of the booking being made. Full payment of the outstanding balance is required 6 weeks prior to your stay.
