Low Wood Bay Watersports Centre, with its extensive range of equipment and an inspiring setting against a backdrop of the Lakeland fells is a great location for getting out on the water. We offer a wide variety of watersports instruction and boat hire suitable for all ages and abilities.

    Being towed behind a powerboat while strapped to a pair of ski’s sounds like madness, but this exhilarating sport must be experience to be believed. Our instructors can take you from being a complete beginner to being towed behind the boat in a shorter time than you might expect.

    Just you – the wind – the boat – and a beautiful lake. If you can sail you know the joy, if you can’t then why not learn. Low Wood Watersports Centre offers both sailing instruction and a range of sailing boats for hire.

    Canoes and kayaks are versatile and agile craft, with a real go-anywhere ability and offer a unique perspective on the lake. We have a range of modern craft at the centre with closed-cockpit and sit-on-top kayaks, and open canoes.

    Rowing & Motor Boat Hire

    Our motor boat and rowing boat hire allow you to explore England’s largest lake at your own pace and experience the breathtaking views only available from being out on the water. Public jetties along the eastern shore allow you to get off the boat and explore the lakeside towns, or stop off for lunch.

    We offer both informal and formal tuition and are recognised by the Royal Yachting Association to offer the Level One, Level Two and Safety Boat courses, and by British Water Ski and Wakeboard to offer the Ski Boat Drivers Award.

Parking & Facilities

Our facilities include free parking, changing rooms and showers, equipment hire and a shop selling refreshments and watersports equipment.
