Storrs Hall provides one of the most stunning wedding venue locations in the Lake District. This beautiful restored Georgian Mansion affords an extraordinary backdrop for a truly idyllic wedding. The drawing room, or our wonderful reception hall with its rotunda and balcony can provide elegant, yet informal settings for drinks and canapés.

The hotel has some of the best backdrops in the Lake District for fantastic wedding photography and memories with exceptional views across Lake Windermere, fantastic lawns and gardens plus sumptuous interiors.
Hotel Wedding Facilities
Our two elegant dining rooms afford magnificent views down the lawns to the water's edge and the Lake District fells. The Terrace restaurant, available for daytime receptions between 12 noon and 6.00pm, seats 70-82 people for a three or four course formal luncheon with coffee and petit fours (or up to 112 using the overflow room). Our smaller John Bolton dining room offers a more intimate atmosphere, seating up to 28 guests for a formal luncheon, or our Counties Meet room, seating up to 40 guests.
The hotel also offers full use of the Leisure complex situated at Low Wood Bay for any guests staying at Storrs Hall, where guests can take advantage of the feature pool, spa, steam room, sauna, solarium, gymnasium, and beauty salons.
Evening Wedding Receptions
Storrs Hall is available for evening receptions or celebrations, either within the hotel or for larger numbers a marquee can be erected in the extensive grounds. For parties requiring an evening reception (as well as certain periods during the year), the entire hotel can be taken exclusively for 1 or 2 nights; our thirty stunning guestrooms provide the epitome of luxury for your guests.
Civil Licence & Wedding Ceremonies
The hotel holds a civil licence which enables wedding ceremonies to take place at Storrs Hall. Various areas within the hotel are licensed to hold a ceremony, in accordance with the number of guests. Most of the ceremonies take place in the Rotunda, a most unique and special setting.
Wedding Menu & Drinks Selections
Our chefs prepare the finest cuisine from locally sourced ingredients from canapés to a three or four course luncheon followed by coffee and petit fours, or a more informal buffet style wedding breakfast. A full extensive menu is available upon request and is included in our wedding brochure.
Wedding Drinks
We have an extensive wine list, which includes a selection of house wines and Champagnes.
Wine, Champagne and Ale tasting
As part of your programme, why not arrange a tasting of wines, Champagnes or Cumbrian ales in our cellars. The hotel cellars can be used for a variety of activities.
