Aside from the warm welcome and cosy atmosphere of the venue’s Sandeman Bar and Foodworks restaurant, the culinary team at the hotel prides itself on using the finest local produce which Lancashire has to offer.

And there’s something for everyone on the menu, with a contemporary range of delicious starters and small dishes through to large, sumptuous feasts with an array of side options.*

For a locally sourced dish, why not start with the Port of Lancaster smoked mackerel, garnished with smoked bacon, apple pearls, and lemon dressing?  For a continental touch, there’s the highly popular prawn and clam arancini with citrus and chive mayonnaise.

Dedicated meat eaters will no doubt go for the buffalo chicken wings or our favourite spiced pork and Longhorn beef meatballs with mozzarella and rich tomato and chilli ragout

And there is also a strong range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options from which to choose, including beetroot falafel bites with tomato hummus, or mojo picón potatoes in roasted red pepper and coriander sauce.

The kingpin of our main courses is surely the 10oz Sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce.  For the lighter, sophisticated palate, our pan-fried seabass fillet with tarragon cream thrills the tastebuds too.

Vegan and vegetarian choices include sweet potato and mung bean falafels with roasted red pepper and coriander sauce, or the sesame and halloumi filo parcel in wild garlic and basil pesto.

For those with a sweet tooth, you're in for a real treat when you see the dessert menu at Lancaster House.  Our wide selection includes Yarde Farm ice creams and sorbets through to our own sticky toffee pudding with ginger snap, clotted cream vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce.

For cheese fans, the Foodworks restaurant board of local cheeses is another firm favourite, served with cheese biscuits, celery, grapes and seasonal homemade chutney.

No dining experience is complete without suitable options for drinks, and the Foodworks restaurant allows you to sample fine wines from continental Europe, New Zealand and Argentina.  There’s also a host of classic beers and craft ales to try, as well as our renowned Sandeman Ports.
