Afternoon Tea is a great British tradition, and at our range of Lake District and Lancashire hotels, we have a selection of unique dining experiences suitable for anyone.
Let’s face it, it’s been a rough few months, but now more than ever before it’s time to get together with friends, family and perhaps those we’ve not been able to see for a little while. English Lakes Afternoon Tea gift vouchers provide a safe place to catch up with the people we love and like. Our Lake District and Lancashire hotels have delightful Afternoon Tea taste sensations that make the perfect gift, and speak of cosy catch-ups and life as it once was.
Lancashire Afternoon Tea at Lancaster House Hotel
Reet Good Lanky Scran. Lancashire is well known for its rich culture of award-winning food and drink. Lancaster House has incorporated some of the best of the county’s produce in their Lancashire Afternoon Tea, which also includes home-baked fayre championed by our own Lancashire lad, the hotel’s Head Chef, Damian Ng.
In acknowledgement and respect for Lancashire’s cotton spinning and weaving heritage, the Afternoon Tea is served on a bespoke two-tier slate stand supported by four original cotton bobbins. That’s two tiers brimming with tempting treats that showcase suppliers from local farms, coast and countryside. Every tasty bite represents an element of Lancaster’s history, heritage and culinary creativity. The team at Lancaster House could not be prouder of their Red Rose county connection.
Wood-Fired Afternoon Tea at Low Wood Bay
Our heavy duty 4-tier pan-handled wood-fired feast. Cooked over hot embers, these afternoon tea tastes come packed with a flavour punch. Savoury Sticky Lollipop Pig Wings, Rum Cured Hot-Smoked Salmon, Kentucky Bourbon and Blue Smoke Brisket Sandwich and Chicken Fillet Skewers are certainly not what you would normally find in a traditional Afternoon Tea. So, get ready for something completely different. On the sweet front, there’s Hot Smoked Sticky Pecan Brownie, Flamed mini Sicilian Lemon Meringue Pie, and homemade Blueberry Scones. Even the jam on the top comes wood-fired! Add some Loaded Nachos, Blue Smoke Slaw, or a Rum or Bourbon cocktail!
These are booking fast – Mmm we wonder why?!
Alternative Afternoon Tea at The Wild Boar

This robust offering includes a range of miniature mighty flavoursome savoury delights and, of course, our notorious pork scratchings with homemade Bramley Apple Sauce. To complement this feast, choose from a glass of Prosecco, Apple Mulled Cider or a beer bat with three different Wild Boar ales.
