Wild Whiskies at Wild Boar Estate
The Scottish Wildcat is a strong symbol of the highlands and even the emblem of some of the Scottish whiskies we have to offer here at Wild Boar Estate.
Legend has it that wildcats defended the shores of Caithness and ferociously attacked a Germanic tribe settling there. They were so impressed with the felines’ tenacity that they adopted them as part of their crest badges as have other clans since.
Now wild in woodland habitats in very low numbers, there are occasional sightings of larger black wild cats here in Cumbria. Could they be descendants of the hybrid Kellas Cat?!
Our Wildcat is a hospitable character who aims to bring out your wild side when you stay with us, particularly active at dusk and long into the evening...
A fierce protector, a symbol, a rare Scottish sighting with significant heritage, just like our wide range of single malt whiskies, this feline epitomises that added extra special something to your experience here at Wild Boar Estate.
Please feel free to peruse our extensive collection of Scottish whiskies on display at the bar, as well as some of the best malts from around the world.
You might even want to join many of our guests here by storing your own favourite malt safely behind the bar to enjoy a tipple whenever you visit. Just ask one of the team...
