Health Club Membership
One of the benefits that our team absolutely love is free membership to two amazing health clubs. The Health Club at Low Wood Bay and the Sandpiper Club at Lancaster House each are equipped with swimming pool, top of the range gym, Jacuzzi, steam rooms and saunas. There’s also a diverse range of fitness classes that include Boot Camps, Nordic Walking, Running Club, Spin, Body Blast, Pilates and others. So, whether you are a fitness junkie, or prefer just to lounge by the pool, working for English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues, the choice is yours.
Water Sports Activities
Employees of English Lakes enjoy great discounts off water sports activities at the Low Wood Bay Watersports Centre. Hire a paddleboard, kayak, canoe or motorboat and explore Windermere. For more of an adrenalin rush, there’s always wake surfing and knee boarding.
It’s not every day, or even every birthday, that we get treated to an overnight stay in a 4* hotel with a three course dinner thrown in. That’s precisely what you will receive on your birthday if you work for English Lakes Hotels. You can take your husband, wife or partner for a romantic getaway and we will light the candles. It is great to be on the receiving end of our remarkable hospitality.
Service Awards Lunches
We like to acknowledge the hard work of all our employees. Every year you will be invited to a Service Awards lunch. This is a beautiful three course lunch in one of our 4* hotels. It’s an occasion that the Directors of the company always attend and it’s their way of saying ‘thank you’ for your service over the previous 12 months. Simon Berry, Chairman and Managing Director will also present you with English Lakes Gift Vouchers that you can spend at any of the hotels, restaurants or other facilities around the hotels and resort.
Discounted Rooms and Food & Beverage
With four distinctive and characterful hotels to choose from, and a range of restaurants, bars, dining styles, and selection of creative menus, it is no wonder that people who work for English Lakes take full advantage of a generous discount off food & beverage. As rooms are also discounted for employees, it makes it a more affordable choice to book in and stay over after dinner.
You will never be asked to pay for car parking and we provide car parking space at the hotels if you are travelling by car.
When appropriate, we encourage employees to car share, spreading the cost of transport, and reducing our carbon footprint.
English Lakes are committed to looking after their employees whilst they are at work. This means that we will provide your uniform, always comfortable and made from high quality materials.
Whilst on duty in the hotels, employees receive free meals.
For those thinking about the possibility of a job at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa, we do have limited availability staff accommodation, please enquire on application if this is something that you would be interested in.
Training & Development
English Lakes is committed to providing our guests with the best possible hospitality experience. That's why we prioritise training and development for our team members. We have a wide range of training opportunities including in-house skills and customer care training. We also work alongside local colleges and training providers to offer our employees accredited training in many aspects of hospitality and management. We also run our own Culinary Academy for aspiring young chefs.
