Each year we hold a very special awards ceremony, In honour of our late former chairman and Managing Director, Michael Berry OBE, but also to honour the exceptional efforts of nominated team members. Building up to this annual event, you and your colleagues can nominate team members who you feel should be recognised for their exceptional performance in their area of work. This includes every department from front to back of house areas. No one misses out. The Board of Directors adjudicate the event, culminating in the very special MRWB Award

Be Our Guest Complimentary Stay
After the successful completion of your first 11 week review we would like you to experience a hotel stay at the hotel where you work, as our guest. We place great importance on the quality of stay afforded to all our guests.

English Lakes Employee Blue Card Discounts
Employees of English Lakes can enjoy generous discounts of up to 50%, on presentation of their employee 'blue card'. Discounts are available against hotel stays, services, activities as well as food & beverage. So whether you want to take a dip in the lake at The Watersports Centre or soak in the views from The Spa or simply take a soak in one of our gorgeous hotel room baths the choice is yours.
The Personal Development Fund
In addition to your professional development we also like to see our team members grow, both individually and also in their world view.
After 1 complete years’ service, employees may apply for funding to assist with additional learning or personal development opportunities outside the workplace. Free Health Club Membership
One of the benefits that our team absolutely love is free access to the Sandpiper Club at Lancaster House. The club is equipped with swimming pool, top of the range gym, Jacuzzi, steam rooms and saunas. So, whether you are a fitness junkie, or prefer just to lounge by the pool the choice is yours.

Free Parking
We provide car parking spaces at the hotels if you are travelling by car. When appropriate, we encourage employees to car share, spreading the cost of transport, and reducing our carbon footprint. Allocated parking areas change from time to time subject to the demands of our business.

Professional Training & Development
English Lakes is committed to providing our guests with the best possible hospitality experience. That's why we prioritise training and development for our team members. Starting with our Expectations training course, we ensure that every new employee is properly welcomed into the company.
Thereafter we will work with you to ensure you have the correct on-the-job training as well as supporting you through National Vocational qualifications in relevant subjects. We have a wide range of training opportunities including in-house skills and customer care training. Initiatives, such as The Culinary Academy, sees us work alongside local colleges and training providers to offer our employees accredited training in many aspects of hospitality and management.
