The Wild Boar is a traditional Lakeland Inn set in the Gilpin Valley, part way between Kendal and Bowness-on-Windermere in the World Heritage Lake District National Park.
The Inn boasts a warm and friendly atmosphere and is popular with both locals and guests for it's Grill & Smokehouse Restaurant and it's traditional Inn ambience with cosy interiors and log fires.
The Inn takes its namesake from the local legend of Sir Richard de Gilpin, who bravely fought and killed a particularly ferocious wild boar. Today guests and visitors can enjoy the 70 acres of private woodland that adjoins the hotel with it's woodland paths meandering past a tarn and myriad wild life.
