Bed and Breakfast only**

Welcome! Once you have settled into your room, we invite you for quick walk up to the tarn, set in our glorious 72 acres of private woodland.

There, we have prepared a special drink and snack reception hosted by our general manager Adam Bujok and the master brewer from our very own microbrewery, the Brewhouse.

Following this, there’s time to finish off wrapping your last presents before the evening entertainment commences. We’d be delighted to invite you to sample our A la Carte menu in the restaurant.

Christmas Eve

Tuesday 24th December 2024

This morning a hearty Wild Boar breakfast awaits, the perfect way to begin your day. After your breakfast, we invite you to meet with Harris Hawk Popeye and our resident birds of prey from our friends at Lake District Falconry.

In the afternoon, we invite you to sample a glass of homemade mulled wine and enjoy a light Afternoon Tea in our Smokehouse Restaurant.

Following this, why not treat yourself to a drink in the lounge by one of our open fires. Alternatively, why not explore the village of Bowness-on-Windermere - an ideal opportunity for any last-minute Christmas shopping.

Tonight, following a glass of bubbly and a canapé or two, we will then be serving a ‘Hog and Ale buffet’ dinner. Our popular Wild Quiz then follows with prizes for winners and bribes gratefully accepted by our ‘Wild Quiz Master’!

A nightcap by one of our roaring fires will round off what we are sure will be a most enjoyable and memorable Christmas Eve celebration.

Christmas Day

Wednesday 25th December 2024

A very special guest will be waiting to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and offer a chilled glass of something bubbly prior to a hearty Lakeland Grill. You are then invited to join Adam Bujok for our archery competition in the woods.

Return for a warming glass of mulled wine and then join us for the main event of the day: our traditional Christmas Day lunch that our brigade of chefs have been busy preparing all morning.

This afternoon, guests have the opportunity to relax, enjoy some of the gifts that Father Christmas has delivered and soak up the atmosphere that only Christmas at the Wild Boar Estate can bring.

Tonight, begins with a delicious Yuletide buffet, and no Christmas at ‘The Boar’ would be complete without our Gingerbread house making competition and this year is no exception! Following 2023’s winning entry, the gauntlet has been well and truly thrown down and prizes await this year’s most eye-catching creations.

Alternatively festive films and games are accessible in the wonderful private ‘Undermillbeck’,  or perhaps just take the relaxing option to sit back in front of one of our roaring fires as Christmas Day 2024 draws to a close.

Boxing Day

The conclusion of our Christmas package is, of course, a traditional Cumbrian breakfast and a fond farewell with best wishes for the year ahead.

For those guests who would prefer to stay an extra night and try our Clay pigeon shooting, we have arranged special rates for accommodation and shooting packages to keep the festive spirits flowing (shooting is suitable for all whether you are a beginner or an expert and with the help of our resident sharp shooter).

2024 Christmas Breaks Tariffs

Our 3-night package commencing on the 23 December 2024, includes several meals and all entertainment as detailed. Costs start from £685.00 per person in our classic room. A £200.00 non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your reservation.

**Please note dinner is not included in price of the package on 23 December.

*** Clay pigeon shooting needs to be pre booked and is at an additional charge. Rooms at best available for the extra night.

Room Upgrades

£40.00 per person per night in a Feature Room

£55.00 per person per night in a Luxury Room

Single Occupancy Supplement

£200.00 per room per night.

Children’s Rates

3 Years and under are accommodated free of charge.

4 – 15 years sharing a room with two full paying adults are charged £475.00.

Children occupying their own room are charged at the full adult price.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome. Please note new charges apply. Our new rate is £35.00 per dog per night, with maximum of two dogs per room occupied.

Additional Nights

At best available rate per night to include Bed & Breakfast with usual upgrade charges applying. Please enquire upon booking.
