Imagine life on the water back in the day with displays including Beatrix Potter’s wooden rowing boat and Esperance, which inspired Arthur Ransome’s Swallows and Amazons houseboat.
The museum also has an extensive showcase of famous boats from bygone eras, such as the mechanically powered SL Dolly. There is even a traditional boat restoration and craft workshop as part of the attraction.
