Archery | The Wild Boar

The Wild Boar's all new archery range allows the creation of a comprehensive archery session, covering various disciplines.

Archery

The Wild Boar, near Windermere are pleased to be able to offer to visitors and guests sessions in Archery. Sessions will be hosted on our new Archery range. Developed in the grounds of The Wild Boar's own private ancient woodland.

During an archery session participants will have the opportunity to try a variety of archery disciplines. These disciplines will progress in difficulty as participants develop their archery skills. Disciplines will include: Straw Target Practice, Field Archery and Moving Target Archery.

Target Practice

A typical archery session will start with target practice using a straw target. During the course of this initial session you will receive coaching, helping you to develop and refine your archery skills.

Field Archery

Your initial session of target practice should have provided a base level of skills. These skills will be further refined in the Field Archery session. Within the beautiful woodland will be located a number of 'stands', targets of life size animals. Archers will employ and hone their skillset as they seek to target and shoot the stands.

Moving Target Archery

The final discipline will combine all the skills developed during the course of the session so far. Moving Target Practice uses specialist equipment to fire targets into the air. Archers will need to draw upon all their newly developed skills as they seek to succeed in shooting at these fast moving airborne targets. This last session is fast and fun and certainly gives a sense of how difficult it would be to survive in the wild!

The Wild Boar

The Wild Boar is located close to Bowness-on-Windermere, in the south of the Lake District. Situated next to the B5284, part way between Windermere Gold Club and the small Lake District hamlet of Crook. The hotel has parking to the rear, next to the hotel's own private ancient woodland.

Pricing

Archery sessions are available to book by guests staying at The Wild Boar and also to non residents alike (see Terms & Conditions). A session of Archery is priced at  £59 per person for residents of The Wild Boar or English Lakes sister hotel. The price per session for non residents is £69 per person when taken with a booking for food at The Wild Boar.

Gift Vouchers

A Gift voucher for Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery or Axe Throwing makes the perfect gift for friends & family. Gift Vouchers are purchased directly from Michael Coates and include a morning or afternoon activity session. On redemption of the voucher a food booking or overnight stay at English Lakes Hotels must be taken.

Terms & Conditions

1. Sessions are subject to availability.

2. The special price is only available on bookings where the minimum number of residents is reached.

3. Archery is only bookable in conjunction with a stay at The Wild Boar or one of it's English Lakes sister hotels or along with a meal booking at The Wild Boar.
