The 3-metre long, double wood-fired grill is the centrepiece of Blue Smoke at Low Wood Bay. With an open kitchen showcasing every flame-grilled moment, the restaurant becomes a sensory haven from your seat. Our chefs cook over hot embers, using trusted and traditional methods that create unforgettable flavours in aged steaks, meats, fish and vegetables.
Across our best restaurants in the Lake District, our chefs have curated their own portfolio of flavours. To create them, we use sustainable British woods such as elder, birch and oak. On special occasions, we use imported olive wood.

We take bookings and walk-ins, both for non-residents and those staying at Low Wood Bay. We have three main serving periods throughout the day:
Lunch Daily: 11:30am - 3:00pm
Wood-Fired Afternoon Tea Daily: 12:00pm - 4:30pm
Dinner Daily: 6:30pm onwards
The dress code is smart casual.
Yes, please do! At Blue Smoke, our professional team of chefs and waiting staff is extensively trained in allergies. We uphold the highest standards of hygiene and preparatory detail, so that our guests with allergies and specific dietary requirements can safely dine with us. Many of our dishes can be adapted to cater for a variety of dietary requirements.
If you have a severe food allergy, please get in touch with us before the date of your booking. Our chefs will then be able to provide you with the widest possible choice and flexibility.
Yes, we do. Our passion for fresh, locally sourced produce also extends to vegan options.
Children are welcome in the Blue Smoke restaurant and a children's menu is available.
No, sorry. Even though Low Wood Bay is a dog-friendly hotel, dogs are not allowed in the Blue Smoke restaurant. We make an exception for guide dogs, which are allowed in all areas across the resort.

Yes! If you're sailing or kayaking on Lake Windermere, you're more than welcome to moor at our Marina at Low Wood Bay. We happily allow lake users to moor their boats for the duration of their time when dining at one of our restaurants.
Yes, you can. Many of our packages at The Spa include 2 courses of your choice from our special Wood-Fired Grill Spa Menu. But if you're feeling peckish for a side dish or you'd like to try something new, you're always welcome to order extras.
Please note that anything you order in addition to your spa package allowance will be billable to your booking.
If you're joining us at The Spa at Low Wood Bay, we will send you a dining time close to your booking date. Once you've received this, please book your table with the following time windows in mind:
12:00 noon: Start time for both the 2-course menu and Wood-Fired Afternoon Tea.
3:00 pm: Finish time for the 2-course lunch.
4:30 pm: Finish time for the Wood-Fired Afternoon Tea
The time of your lunch depends on when you start your session. To keep your experience running smoothly, our chefs aim to follow this schedule:
For the 10am session, your 2-course lunch will be served after 1pm.
For the 1pm and 4pm sessions, lunch will be taken prior to this.
