Summer Days Out with the Family in Lancashire

Here's a few more suggestions for days out for all the family in Lancashire ...

Maize Maze

A unique outdoor activity that challenges on a physical and mental level. The twelve acre site revolves around a designer-created maze made of corn on the cob maize which grows between 8 and 10 feet tall.  The design changes annually. This year the imperial cloned army of Corntroopers  (sheep, all named Dolly) have taken over the maze. You are challenged to find the location of evil Bark Vader and send him back to the doghouse.

On-site there are also large indoor and outdoor play areas with space for pedal go-karts, football, netball, basketball, hoops, trampoline, wheelbarrows and lots more. A uniquely exhausting and satisfying diversion for all children.

Open 21st July - 3rd September, every day

Adults £7.50; Children under 16 £6; Children under 3, free; Family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) £24

Greenlands Farm Village

Originally a working dairy farm, Greenlands Farm Village now offers a taste of the countryside and artisan shopping for all the family.

On the open farm you can pat & feed storybook farm animals, enjoy a donkey ride, play on mini tractors, lark about in a straw play barn, race round the barn on the go-carts and picnic by the paddocks.

In the artisan village, you can meet many talented crafts people to find a special souvenir from your time spent exploring North Lancashire.

Open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and NY Day, the Open Farm is staffed between 10am and 4pm (last entrance 3:30pm)

Adults and children £6; Family ticket £18
