Lancaster House team raise funds for St John’s Hospice

The team at Lancaster House Hotel recently presented a cheque to local charity St John’s Hospice following a Christmas prize draw.

Guests and visitors at the hotel were invited to enter the draw to win some great prizes. The hotel team was able to raise £230 as a result, with the funds donated to the hospice’s Forget Me Not centre, which provides unique whole family bereavement support.

The Forget Me Not centre and service is an important project to prevent families being split up for bereavement care. Research confirms that the most effective type of bereavement support is family-based and prior to St John’s offering this service, there was none available free of charge in the Lancaster area.

The lucky winners of the draw have been contacted personally by team members from Lancaster House. First prize was a complimentary dinner for two at The W restaurant at Low Wood Bay in Windermere.

Second prize was a 3 hour Thermal Journey at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa and the third prize was an Alternative Afternoon tea for two at The Wild Boar near Windermere. There was a fourth prize too, courtesy of the Lancaster House team, a ‘Swim & Dine’ experience for two at Lancaster House Hotel.

St John’s Hospice is a local charity which provides free palliative care to patients with life shortening conditions. Its services cover a population area of 250,000 people in North Lancashire, South Lakes and parts of North Yorkshire. Its focus is on improving patients' symptoms and providing end of life care with an experienced team of specialists.

The hotel wishes to thank everyone who took part in the draw and helped raise money for this very worthy cause.
